In support of Cambodian Rugby

Singapore Rugby Union honors it’s unsung heroes, while reaching out a helping hand to Cambodian Rugby.

 The night of 30th October 09 will be a special occasion for Singapore and Cambodian Rugby, when we officially welcome to our shores three rising stars of the Cambodian game to raise funds and awareness for their and their game’s continued development. 

The night will be the highlight of a two week schedule whereby young national players and a coach from the local rugby competition will travel to Singapore to learn more about their game and to live and play with members of the Bedok Kings RFC.

 The evening will be made even more special with four of our very own unsung Heroes being honored for their contribution to the game both on and off the field.

Through the fund raising dinner, organized by Bedok Kings and supported by SCC, Bucks RFC, Wanderers RFC and the SRU, the local rugby community hopes to raise over $10,000 in cash and equipment to support the development of the game and it’s people in one of the region’s most challenging landscapes, Cambodia.

Highlights of the two weeks include the commissioning and development of the Unsung Heroes of Singapore Rugby portrait by renowned artist Greggori Chiaroni which will be auctioned off during the evening in support of the fund raising.

Bedok Kings is honoured to organize an event that truly brings together the local community to support its very own heroes while making a difference for our cousins in Cambodia so that they can grow their very own heroes of the game.
