HISTORY
The Bedok Kings were born from a “fun/pub” team (Japanese) in 1996, and today boast a rich mix of Singaporean and expatriate talent, particularly, Australian, New Zealanders, African, British and Japanese.
The clubs first year was a “learning experience”. loosing every game. Nevertheless 1997 saw a marked improvement. Although the club was unable to chalk up a single win, it was encouraged by their narrow defeats to well established clubs. In 1998 the club managed to finish the season in 4th place.
Thus the scene was set for the 1999 season. In the preseason NRC 7’s, Black 10’s and NRC 10’s Bedok Kings showed their potential with final and semi-final placings. But from the start of the M1 league campaign, it was clear that the Bedok Kings were going to dominate the 15 a-side game and that they did winning the league.
Bisous Bedok Kings Rugby Club, the 2001 Cup Champions and the 2000 & 1999 M1 League Champions of Singapore, are the premier rugby club representing local and expatriate talent. They are playing again in the 2003 championship to continue their amazing success in Singapore rugby
It is the objective of the Bisous Bedok Kings to remain a quality rugby playing club and to continue to be the most socially dynamic sporting association in Singapore. With this in mind we will continue to drive the game's development at school, club and country level, while attracting the best expatriate talent arriving in Singapore.
